Costa Rican Independence Day!

The Independence Day Celebration was a blast…
On September 15th, Lakeside celebrated the Independence of Costa Rica!
Everyone learned a bit about the history of the “Antorcha”, parade of faroles and the meaning of Costa Rican Independence. The traditional food provided by Karen Lios, Ana Cruz and Millie Ramirez was delicious and every last tamale disappeared!

Lakeside Carries The Torch…

The Torch of Independence arrived in Costa Rica Sunday morning around 11:00am. At 9:45pm on Sunday the 13th three Lakeside International School secondary students (Keanan Harden, Glennis Harden and Raegan Correll) proudly carried the torch for over 1km in it’s journey to Cartago.
